Jeremiah 18:1-12

In these verses God is giving Jeremiah another lesson.  It is the lesson of the ruined bowl made by the potter on his wheel. Then he made another bowl which was good.  God compares Himself with the potter.  In fact He is the master potter and Israel is the bowl.  Now a marred ruined bowl, but I want to go further than these verses to say that the second nation Israel when Christ comes back will be like the second perfect bowl mentioned in these verses.
The end of these (verse 12) it is said by Judah, “We will walk in our own devices and everyone in the imagination of our own heart.” Isn’t that what is happening in our world today.  This is even true among much of what is called Christianity today.
Now where do I fit typically in the truth of these verses?  I can be like the marred bowl or the second good bowl.  I know salvation is by grace not works but good works should follow in a born again Spirit filled life.  Ephesians 2:10 says after salvation, “We are His workmanship created in Christ for good works.” I don’t want to be a marred vessel.
