Jeremiah 5:1-3; 12-19
Now Jeremiah 5:1-3 is supposed to be searching in Jerusalem for someone who is walking according to truth. Remember Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the Truth.” There seemed to be only a possible few that obeyed the truth and when they were stricken they were not grieved or repentant. Could this be true in our country today? Shame on us as a nation.
The rest of these verses speak of judgment but God’s word to Jeremiah is, “I will not make a full end with you.” As we look at Ezra, Nehemiah, Esther and possibly Daniel, God will keep Israel as He is still doing today.
Now do I find anything for myself in all of this? Yes all who believe in Jesus will be kept, even if like Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego we go through a sort of furnace of affliction.
