2 Timothy 1:8-12
In the U.S.A. we have a freedom that many Christians in in other parts of the world don’t have. It was difficult in Timothy’s day with Paul in prison. He could have been tempted to hold back with the threat of persecution. Paul calls it the afflictions of the gospel.
There are terms I would like to bring out and I will be brief. In verse 9 our calling in Christ is a holy calling. Also, this is one of at least four times the term was used, “before the world began”. This idea of God did not begin when Jesus was born as a man.
