Paul begins by describing himself as less than the least of all the Saints.  Perhaps we all feel that way at times.  Paul was chosen to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ.  When I look at what Paul did bring out about Christ in all his letters, why do I need to bother about all that is unsearchable?  I do want to know all that I can know but then rest in peace on the things I can't know.

My question is this,"Are you wiling to know what you can know?"  There is another phrase in verse 10 which is "the manifold wisdom of God."  When we examine the U.S., to say nothing about the rest of the world, do we see much of this wisdom that comes from above?   God's eternal purposes all rest in our Lord Jesus Christ.  In Christ  we have boldness and access with confidence by faith in Him.  Boldness means we can come right in.  Access means the way in is available to us.  Confidence means we are sure of the way in and it is all because of Christ!   Now we know this is a prison letter and Paul is more concerned about how the believers will be affected by this fact in their boldness for Christ.  He confidently states that he knows that Jesus Christ is in charge and will bring him through this.
