I have often wondered why the item called prayer mentioned first, is part of the Armor of God or does it stand alone? However we must use it and I believe that without it the rest of the armor would not be effective.  It may be like going to war without contacting the General that is in charge of the battle.  Then Paul writes from a prison in Rome. He says that he needs prayer more than ever.  He uses the term, "that utterance (prayer words) may be given me that I may open my mouth boldly to make known the mystery of the Gospel."  Whoever reads this I would ask the same from you.  Paul calls himself an ambassador in chains. If you read Philippians 1 that is really what he was.  However if you read 2 Corinthians 5:20 it will say that we are ambassadors too, but perhaps no material chains.
Paul concludes this with, "Grace be with all those who love our Lord Jesus Christ with sincerity.  I do believe it would please Paul if he saw that we were loving the Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity.  I am hoping this is true of me and of whoever reads this.
