In the book of Ezra chapter 3:12-13, we have an interesting thought.  They had just finished the foundation of the temple.  There were those who were older who had seen the first temple and began to weep because this was nothing like the first one.  The younger people were praising God because the foundation was finished.
Haggai is now asking who saw this temple in its former glory.  Now how do you see it? When sin enters and even when restoration comes it may never look the same again.  However we have to be careful about talking about former days.  It could discourage the younger Christians among us. Now God’s prophetic statement is that the glory of this second temple is greater than the first.  Remember Jesus walked and taught in that temple. I want to also mention about us who are living stones in what we call the present temple of God. I Peter 2:5, Ephesians 2:19-22
