I did speak of this in my last blog how that Solomon married many wives and they tempted him to make idols to their foreign gods.  Sometimes children suffer because of the waywardness of a parent especially the man.  Now it was time to hand the kingdom over to his son Rehoboam.  What he didn’t know was that God had already determined to separate the kingdoms into two parts because of Solomon’s disobedience.
I am speaking about this from we who are parents (I have made mistakes too) who must be careful how we conduct our lives.  Solomon’s disobedience not only affected his son, but generations to come.
Rehoboam’s life was not an upturn either.  In a kingdom when things begin to slide it goes down first. We must also be careful of this in church life and also in our own family life.  Here I would like to quote Hebrews 2:1-3, “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things lest we drift away.” Then to verse 3, “How shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation.” We must give this attention or we will drift.
