The first 6 verses (8-13) speak of the office of those who are called Deacons. We find them first mentioned in Acts 6:3. They were chosen to oversee distribution of goods to widows. These men were chosen by the Jerusalem congregation.
The qualifications were written by Paul to Timothy. Timothy was to oversee this was done. There were also qualifications concerning the wives of the deacons. These men were to be servants to the congregation.
I finish with these important words from Paul regarding the behavior in the House Of God (not four walls of a building) which is the pillar and ground of truth. Paul ends this section with what is called “the mystery of Godliness”.
In these few words this is the best description of Christ who is our pattern.
