I Timothy 5:1-8
Paul gives these words to Timothy as he, a younger man is to act with elder men. I have in my sixty years of ministry seen some younger men treat older Christians brothers very poorly. Respect is the answer.
Then next it is the respect due to older Christians ladies. However I have made it a practice to be the same with those , both men and women who I don’t know whether they are Christians or not. The next verses may not be as applicable to our modern American society. The government stepped in and took the role of that which in Paul’s day would belong to the church or to children who had the means to help their widowed mothers.
Even with all that is written above I must be careful to fulfill what is the roles of Christian love as much as I have the power to do so. This is for all Christians not just those in a ministry.
