II Thessalonians 1:6-12

When Paul wrote this second letter, these Christians were going through hostile persecutions from the people in that region.  We must remember that God says vengeance is mine.  When the Lord Jesus is revealed in Revelation chapter 19, the following verses will be true.  There there will be a great punishment and the Christians were told to rest in the fact that God will take care of it.

The next verse is precious to me, that the Lord Jesus will be glorified in His saints.  We who believe in Jesus are His sanctified ones known as saints.  He will also on that day be by all His own believers.  Paul now wants those believers to be counted worthy of this calling.  How do we do this is if we are saved by grace?  I am not oly saved by grace but I live by grace.  I patiently wait for His coming for us believers and His coming to rule this world as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

The last verse of this section is written to the Thessalonian believers.  That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you according to the grace of God and our Lord Jesus Christ.  I write this last paragraph in honor of believers all over the world who are persecuted for the Lord Jesus Christ.  I can afford to be smug in our country where freedom for Christians still exists to some degree but the day may come when we have lost those privileges.  I am happy to love and serve Him and wait for His coming.
