Jeremiah 22:24-23:6

The beginning of these verses is spoken against a king known as Coniah.  God uses a symbol of a signet ring which is a sign of adornment but He says I will tear you from my finger. Israel was God’s peculiar treasure but for Coniah God says, “I will tear you off and throw you away.” Next God says that no one would sit on the throne of David after him.  Another name for him is Jehoiachin.
There is a phrase in verse 29 that says, “Oh earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.”  Do you think many are hearing God’s word today?  The Bible says to hear is to do it.
Then we have a woe to the pastors that destroy and scatter the flock.  If there ever was a time that the flock is scattered it is now.  We are scattered in all kinds of divisions today.
This is not to be permanent for David’s greater Son, called here the “Branch” which is our Lord Jesus Christ.  His first coming was to pray for our sins, but His second coming will be to put all things together.  He will be called, “THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” He will be called “King of kings” and “Lord of lords”.  Revelation 19:16
