When it comes to honor, I am not sure why John wrote what he did in verse 44, He was dishonored in Nazareth, but I am not sure why he wrote this here. Now He came to Cana of Galilee where He made the water into wine, a true miracle indeed.
In Cana, there was a nobleman who begged Jesus to come down to his house and heal his son. Jesus, as a test, said: Unless you see signs and wonders, you will by no means believe. Was that for the man or others? I have no way to answer that, but the man continues to beg Jesus to come down to his house. Now Jesus gives him another test. He says “Go your way, your son lives.” The man responds by going home. Perhaps he even doubts a little but he goes home. The servants come and tell him his son is better. It was the same time Jesus said go your way, your son lives. He believed with all his household. My thought is that Jesus was not needed to be present to heal. This speaks volumes to me.
