Luke 12:49-59

Why did Jesus speak about sending fire on the earth?  I believe Jesus’ teaching sends a fire on earth in the hearts of those who believe, and just the opposite in those who don’t believe.  Now the word baptism is the term “immerse” and to me this speaks of the Cross.  Jesus was immersed in the suffering of the sins of the whole world from the beginning of time and until the end of time.  Of course, only the people of faith and in our generation, those who accept what He has done understand this.

Now what is the division that Jesus speaks of?  Someone wrote a tract entitled “The Divider of Mankind.”  To me it is more prevalent now than when I was a boy growing up.  You have to be with Him or you are on the other side of the fence.  There is no middle ground.  The hatred of people against Christ is so thick you can almost cut it with a knife.  I feel this is the fire I spoke of earlier.  In certain places, families are separated because of Christ.  Which side of this great divide are you on?

Then Jesus speaks of signs.  The Pharisees and religious people could look at the sky for the weather, but they could not see before their own eyes.  Today I see signs that point beyond even the Rapture.  The Rapture must come first.  I am ready.  John at the end of his book of Revelation says:  Even so come Lord Jesus.
