Mark 11:25-33

We are to live in a spirit of forgiveness.  When we can’t concentrate on prayer or if we are offended by someone we can’t forgive, this hinders our prayers from getting through to our heavenly Father.  In the Lord’s prayer we find Jesus admonishing us with this fact: And forgive us our trespasses, As we forgive them that trespass against us.”  It appears our relationship with Christ is dependent on how willing we are to obey and forgive those who offend us. If we want to have a close relationship and a fruitful life, we will live a yielded life of obedience and quickly forgive those who have wronged us in anyway.

The scribes and pharisees question Jesus about his authority.  There are still many today who also question the same thing.  I dare not question Him in anyway.  There of plenty of verses that say He is our Creator.  We were created for his pleasure and exist to give Him all the glory and praise.  (Revelation 4:11)  Jesus answers their questions with a question and when they refused to answer him He said, “I will not answer you either.”

Let’s examine another question:  The baptism of John, was it from Heaven or from men?  We know the answer because we have the written narration from God’s Word today.  They didn’t have that at the time this was taking place, but they were torn between themselves and the people.  Besides they rejected the baptism of John.  So they would not say “from Heaven.”  Yet I know it was.  that was a matter of dishonesty.  We must be honest with God and people.  Another thing is whether I recognize Jesus’ authority in my own life.  If I don’t, then I would be way out in left field in my Christian life.
