Paul gives examples of goodness of thinking on certain things.  It doesn’t do anyone good to think on wrong things.  I don’t want to waste my mind.  What good is my mind if it is corrupt?  Our thought life can be corrupt or it can be holy.
Paul then gives them himself as an example.  Peter gives the same example in II Peter 1. We really impress no one by running off at the mouth.
Next Paul speaks about a gift these Christians sent him.  He thanks them gratefully.  He then says that he knew how to be hungry and to have enough ending with “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” A lesson we all need to learn.
