Psalm 149:1-9

The last five psalms begin with, “Praise Ye the Lord!”  The next phrase says, “Sing unto the LORD a new song.”  There was a hymn writer that spoke our life as a song.  He spoke of the Lord Jesus as a beautiful song . The end of those phrases say that they nailed that song to a tree.

My new song began in 1956 at the age of 21, now 58 years ago. It was because of His beautiful song I can live a song too, however, not as beautiful as His.

Let Israel rejoice in Him that made him.  Here it is not the man Israel but the nation. God made that nation just like He made me.

There is a Bible phrase, “The LORD takes pleasure in His people.” Did He always? Does He take pleasure in Israel now?  There  is coming a day when God says in Zechariah 12:11, “They shall look upon Me whom they have pierced (meaning Jesus /God) on the cross.”  Then  He will finally take pleasure in His people.  Does He take pleasure in me?

Let the high praises of God in their mouth.  does my mouth open with high praise and what about the two edged sword? Reminds me of the Word of God in Hebrews 4:12.  Is the Bible that to me? Can I use it? Am I proficient with it? A two edged sword cuts two ways.
