This Psalm begins with the term open your ears.  Listen to what God has to say to you.  Jesus used that too.  He that has ears let him hear.  Do you think everyone who heard Him really heard Him?
This Psalm speaks of fathers teaching God’s word to their children.  I have heard some say we don’t tell our children what to believe.  When they are old enough to make a decision they will.  I grew up that way but I found Christ and it changed my life.  However for most that is too late.
In verse 5 it speaks of the law God established in Jacob (Israel).  If they were jealous and kept it they would never have been carried away to Babylon.
Verse 9 speaks of Ephraim turning back in the day of battle.  He did two things that that were cowardly and not relying on God.  Look what Abraham was able to do with 300 household servants with God in
Genesis 14.
