Revelation 3:7-13

If I were to use the doctrine of these letters as referring to the seven periods of time in the history of Christianity, I would say that this church represents the time of revival of the churches.  Jesus has nothing bad to say about this church.  We read that He has set before them an open door, we find in this period of time, missionaries were sent all over the world.  Some did lose their lives but they were willing to go even to death if necessary.  Whichever way we look at this, the Word of God was read and kept and they lived by it.

Jesus uses his title of the Holy and True One.  He also has the key of David.  He opens doors that no man shuts.  As I sought to preach about Him for a least 57 years.  I know what it means for doors to be opened even some times in a miraculous way.  Now Jesus says:  because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I will keep thee from the hour of trial.  I take this to mean that it is the promise that true Christians will be taken out before the last seven years which the Bible terms the tribulation.  This church is told to hold fast what they had, that no man takes thy crown.  Satan and the world would like to take our crown away.  Now the promise to the over comer is to be a pillar in the temple of God.  I take here the temple to be the church which is called the temple in I Corinthians 3:16.  We have the name of God written upon us and even the name of that beloved city, the New Jerusalem.  Christ also writes on us His new name.
