Revelation 5:1-7

Beginning with this chapter, John saw in the right hand of Him who sat on the throne a scroll.  That is what was called a book in those days.  It was sealed with seven seals.  This seems to be the title deed to both the judgment and mercies of this world.  The talk in Heaven is about who has the right or the authority to open this.  No man is worthy to open the seals of the book.  John weeps because there is no one, but one of the elders says to stop his weeping because there is One who can do it.  John looks and he sees a Lamb.  Remember what another man named John the Baptist said when he saw Jesus,  “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.” (John 1:24)

The interesting thing (even though this is a vision) is that this Lamb has seven eyes and seven horns.  Horns speak of strength, but the seven represent the fullness of the Spirit.  This Lamb has everything needed to be both Savior and Judge.  Now in this final wrap up, I want to ask,  “What more is needed?”  Christians are now going through many things today.  Is this Lamb enough for them?  Is He enough for me no matter what I may be going through?  If we continue to read through until we reach chapter 17, we find that if He is capable of that, He can handle all of my distresses no matter what they are.  What we must do is give them all to Him.  I heard a nice song by Evie Tournquist years ago.  The main line of the song goes,  “Give them all to Jesus and He will turn your heartaches into joy.”
