Warfare Praying! – Ephesians 6:18-24

Paul concludes his discussion about spiritual warfare by discussing prayer.  Prayer along with God’s Word is one of our offensive weapons to use against satan.  Paul encourages prayer in three specific areas.

1. Prayer for “saints” – pick a believer with spiritual needs
2. Prayer for “me” – pick a spiritual leader
3. Prayer for “the gospel to be fully known” – pick an unsaved person

When we face temptation, we should pick three specific people to pray for when we are tempted in a specific way.  Thus satan’s temptation becomes a prayer prompter to bring God’s power against his.  For example, if tempted to lust.  First use the sword of the spirit and quote God’s Word – “Flee also youthful lusts but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart”.  Then pray for the three specific people and their specific needs asking God to do great damage to satan’s kingdom in working in and through their lives.  In this way we resist the devil and he will flee from us.

Walk with the Lord and exercise warfare praying!!!
